Letter from the Secretary General
Dear Future Delegates and Advisors,
It is my honor, as your Secretary General, to welcome you to our first PEMUN. Model United Nations has been a part of the American School of Recife’s tradition for over 20 years, and for the first time, we will be hosting our own event. From October 12 to October 14, we will come together as world leaders, and debate issues that concern the international community. Our conference will consist of three committees, the Security Council, the Historical Security Council and the Human Rights. The debate will be led by our Leadership team, which is formed by very passionate and experienced students, who are eager to see how each one of you will enrich the discussion in your committees. Like me, the Leadership team is available to help you with any doubts you might have regarding MUN; it is in our best interest to help you become the best delegate you could possibly be. On the last day of PEMUN, we will be having a General Assembly, where all committees will come together and debate as one. In the end we will be awarding the three best delegations from each committee; also, we will grant an award for the Best Overall Delegation and for the Best Written Resolution. PEMUN will be an amazing opportunity to improve, not only your speaking skills, but also your writing skills, and it will give you the chance to make new friends, whom you might never have met otherwise.
We look forward to having you here in October.
Sincerely,
Julia Grunberg
